Engineered wood flooring is a premium flooring option made from a real wood surface layer     such as European oak     bonded to multiple layers of stable backing material. This construction makes it more resistant to moisture, temperature changes, and warping than traditional solid hardwood, while still providing the authentic look and feel of real wood.

Engineered European oak offers the beauty of natural hardwood with greater durability and versatility. It can be installed over more surfaces (including concrete slabs) and in more climates, making it ideal for coastal homes, high-humidity areas, or rooms with radiant heating.

Yes     most engineered wood floors can be refinished at least once, depending on the thickness of the top hardwood layer. Our engineered European oak planks have generous wear layers that allow for future refinishing to extend the life of your floors.

Absolutely. Engineered wood’s layered construction makes it more stable in humid, salt-air environments compared to solid hardwood. Many of our tones     from warm ambers to soft driftwood hues, are inspired by coastal living and complement breezy, light-filled spaces.
To keep your engineered wood flooring looking its best:

  • Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and grit.
  • Use a damp (not wet) microfiber mop with a hardwood-safe cleaner.
  • Avoid excessive water and harsh chemicals.
  • Use felt pads under furniture to prevent scratches.

Yes. Ruben Sorhegui Tile offers a professional-grade wood floor cleaner specifically formulated for the engineered wood sold in our showroom. It’s designed to clean effectively without leaving residue or harming the finish, helping your floors maintain their beauty and durability.
Yes     engineered wood can be installed in kitchens and half baths if spills are cleaned promptly and proper precautions are taken. For full bathrooms or areas with high moisture, we recommend waterproof flooring options such as porcelain or natural stone.
Our engineered wood flooring can be installed using floating, glue-down, or nail-down methods. Your installer will determine the best method based on your subfloor type, space, and design preferences.
With proper care, engineered wood flooring can last decades. Its longevity depends on the thickness of the wear layer, the quality of the product, and how well it’s maintained.
